SUMMARYSam Zherka is a classic rags to riches American success story. He is a proud father and son, husband, businessman, and humanitarian. This Bronx native has eight children, five boys and three girls, including six-year old quadruplet boys. He continues to live the legacy of his parents, Albanian refugees who have survived tyranny, oppression and discrimination. From his humble beginnings growing up working alongside his father doing building maintenance, and starting his first paid job at the age of 11 washing dishes at Sal’s Pizza on 206th Street in the Bronx, Sam has traveled a long road to success in building real estate portfolios totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in value. In 2014 Sam Zherka was indicted for conspiring to make false statements to banks. Those banks included North Fork Bank, Capital One Bank, and Signature Bank. In 2016 and after spending 15 months without bail at the MCC, Federal Detention Center, Sam Zherka pled guilty and was sentenced to 37 months in Prison where he served nearly 28 months of his sentence.

The Executive Vice-President and Chairman of the Commercial Real Estate Committee of Signature Bank, one of the most active commercial lenders in the Northeast, said of Sam Zherka that “I have known Sam for about 12 to 13 years and originated loans on 25 to 30 properties totaling over $100 million. He has always lived up to the terms of all of our agreements. Sammy Zherka is one of those clients.” Similarly, Karen Nora, attorney at law, who served as the bank attorney for Northfork Bank, now known as Capital One Bank, stated that “Sam Zherka is a man of his word,” and “I would not hesitate to continue as lender’s counsel in any transaction involving Mr. Zherka or any of his companies.” Indeed, Sam is man of passion and principle.
